Hello everyone, I’m here to write another article! This time I want to talk about eating hot pot on weekends in Sweden, and by the way, I want to complain about the Asian supermarkets in Sweden. For several years, the ingredients we eat have remained the same 😂.

In Sweden, eating hot pot, spicy hot pot, and sukiyaki with friends sounds wonderful, and it is also our regular activity every Sunday – hot pot + board games, it is simply a perfect combination for the weekend.
However, the cost of eating hot pot in Sweden is much higher than in China.
The price of Swedish hot pot is a bit expensive

- Meat rolls: Like the Kung Fu brand meat rolls in the picture, a box of 400 grams costs 109 kronor (about 76 RMB). A hot pot meal would require at least four boxes, right?
- Hot pot meatballs: basically 100 kronor per pound, which is about 70 yuan per pound in RMB.
- Other side dishes: various vegetables, tofu, vermicelli, etc., the price in Sweden is several times higher.
But even so, hotpot is still a source of happiness for international students. After all, eating together and having a lively atmosphere is the most important thing!
Hot pot? Spicy hot pot? Sukiyaki? They are actually the same ingredients
However, although our Sunday hot pot party looks very sumptuous, the ingredients we eat have not changed at all over the years🤣.
Even more exaggerated is that whether it is hot pot, spicy hot pot, or sukiyaki, the ingredients we use are the same!

Why? Because there are only a few choices in the Asian supermarkets in Sweden:
Meat rolls: The Asian supermarkets that the author has been to in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö always have “Kung Fu” brand meat rolls
Meatballs: They have been the same for several years, without any change
Hot pot base: It’s still the same old brands, even the packaging has not changed
There are only two Asian supermarkets in Lund where I live, and their supply channels seem to be the same, so every time I go shopping, I still buy the same things. In this way, we have been eating the same hot pot for several years in a row, and even the taste of the hot pot has not changed much🤣.

However, this has become a “tradition”. Everyone is still eating happily while complaining “It’s the same thing again”.
The most important thing about eating hot pot is the happiness among friends
Although the ingredients of Swedish hot pot are simple, the base and side dishes have not changed, every hot pot party is still full of joy.
Everyone gathered together, lively, talking and laughing
The pot was bubbling with steam, and the atmosphere was full
With board games, chatting, and gossip, the happiness of the weekend was instantly full
This may be one of the warmest memories in Sweden.

Looking forward to the hot pot party next weekend, we will continue to eat the same ingredients and talk about topics that have never been repeated. 🔥🍲
